 Highlighted by the ever-wacky, non-traditional Mardi Gras parade at high noon on the first Saturday -- topped by Monte Carlo Casino Night that evening. Also don't miss the opening ceremonies or the neon children's parade on the first Friday night.
For many, the snow sculptures are the highlight of the McCall Winter Carnival 
The second weekend is themed "Snow Daze." and focuses on the different ways to play in the snow. 
Brundage Mountain Ski Resort is nearby and Picabo Street, Olympic gold medalist is often on hand to greet skiers. Ponderosa State Park has an awesome set of trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing

Red Lodge Winter Carnival

The Torchlight Parade & Fireworks Display on the Saturday night are the highlight of Winter Carnival. Skiers carrying torches wind their way down the mountain in single file in a slow descent and are greeted at the base to a burst of fireworks that light up the night sky. It's an awesome sight & one you won't soon forget! . Contests include Snow Sculpture, Scavenger Hunt Snow Obstacle Course, Firehose Race, Costume  and "most creative" cardboard racing craft. Many people turn up in Carnival costumes for a little bit of Rio in the snow.

Festivals.com has called Red Lodge's Winter Carnival the "Greatest Event on Earth" worldparty.com ranks the event hosted by the small town of 2000 as one of the 300 best events in the world
