This great event takes place on the first Sunday in August which
makes August the London Carnaval month is supported by Southwark
Council,

Fund, is the largest Latin American out-door event in the
Europe.

Hyde Park and in the future three days of events will be held in
Hyde Park.

The widely acclaimed Paraiso School of Samba in their 6th
Carnival parade challenging for the best Samba School outside
Brazil
Batala Liverpool
(founded March 2005) is a community Samba band which formed as
part of the Pan European Mundo Batala project led by Samba
Reggae Mestre Giba Goncalves.
Batala Liverpool again
played with the wider family of Batala Bands including
Paris, Nantes, La Rochelle, Portsmouth, Bangor, Barmouth
and Lancaster at the 2007 Notting Hill Carnival [click to relive 150 Batalians in sync together]
The band rehearses every Saturday 12 - 5pm at
Upton Community Centre, Hough Green Road, Widnes.
The band is now 40+ strong with distinctive
red, white and black drums and costumes manufactured and
supplied from Piraja, a suburb of Salvador in Brazil. Other
members of the Batala family can be found across England, Wales,
France, Belgium and SpainBatala has been awarded prizes at
Notting Hill Carnival in 2003, 2005 & 2006.
All sound systems in Carnival are authorised by the Royal
Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster in conjunction
with the British
Association of Sound Systems (Bass).
