CARIBANA
1967 to 1997 - PARADE ROUTE: For 1997, the Caribana Parade on August 2, returns to its roots as Toronto's best street party for the first time since 1990. Bands will assemble along Lakeshore Boulevard, west of Coronation Park. Beginning at 10 a.m., they will progress west along Lakeshore Boulevard for 3 km without passing through Exhibition Stadium. Judging stands will be set at the junction of Ontario Drive and Lakeshore Boulevard. Admission along the length of the route is free. As in the past, barricades will define the parade area; spectators are requested to respect the masqueraders and allow them space to display their costumes to all onlookers. The name Caribana is owned by the
Caribbean Cultural Committee (416)465-4884. This is not
the official web site but you can find it at: Official Caribana Shop at College Park, 444 Yonge Street at College
