NEW YORK, NEW YORK
The City of New York (NYC), affectionately known as the big apple lost the title of
"home to world's tallest building" many skyscrapers ago, yet few dispute her
unofficial title of "capital of the world". We all wish to be at this center of
the world, sensing the peaks of many movements, or as is more often the case, to feel like
we are at the center of a hurricane. New York is a tough city that takes much pride in
owning the phrase, "if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere."
We believe in
annual events, especially parades and salute New York City as the clear
and away parade capital of the world. You'll find your best Annual NYC
Parades guide here and don't forget it is supported by users like you
who are encouraged to post info, comments or questions in its what's
new or photo
links forum area.
We now have a guide to NYC's most populous borough at www.carnaval.com/brooklyn. |

Prices are up sharply
on the 60,000 hotel rooms in 1999-2000 but there may be relief in sight with
6,000 rooms under
construction. Most New York's hotels & hostels are in midtown Manhattan close
to theaters and many sights so consider the better value of B&B's or apartments if you
want a prettier part of the island.
Remember hotel taxes will add 13.25% plus $2 per night . Light continental
breakfast being included is increasingly popular. That bellhop seizing your
luggage will expect $5 for carrying your bags to your room. Don't forget
something per day for the cleaning staff. Also, many hotels have adjusted
their phone charge policy to charge you when you call your calling
card's toll-free number so do check in advance.
