Places to Stay Barbados

Over 6000 rooms island wide in more than 200 different places to stay, with the great concentration along the south and west coasts. Today you can locate excellent bargains at guest houses with a  breakfast from under $20.00 U.S daily in the summer to luxury accommodations at some of the world's best hotels at $1,600 a night in the prime season.
For most the decision about where to stay will be directed towards the Southwest side of the island boasting beaches of fine white sand bordering a beckoning blue-green Caribbean sea. St. Lawrence Gap in the south between Bridgetown and the airport has the best selection of moderately-priced stays and is the place to go for dining and night life.  The West Coast boasts the highest concentration of luxury resorts and rooms on the island
You can also find some excellent stays on the East Coast where the Atlantic Ocean supplies waves that inspire surfers. This rugged natural side offers you a beautiful retreat, as does the far north where there are no places to stay. On the Atlantic the currents are very strong making children near the beach a concern.

West Coast

Although the west, or "platinum" coast of Barbados is renowned for its luxury hotels, several of which are ranked among the best in the Caribbean, there are a handful of cheaper places sandwiched between them. There's less of a "resort" feel than in the south, with hotels spaced out at more or less regular intervals along the coast.
