 at DIMOND PARK in Oakland (same location as the past two years),
near the corner of Fruitvale and MacArthur Streets.
 
Kiddies Carnival Theme for 2004: "True Expressions: BE YOURSELF". This year we celebrate our natural creativeness and uniqueness. Who better to remind us of this simple truth than our children! We have all been blessed with special and unique talents - let's let our creativity flow and take a cue from the kids: LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!
 
This is a FREE EVENT for kids, parents, everyone who loves music,
dance, rhythm, costumes....fun.
 
Our mission remains the same: We'll create a day of rhythm, art, music, culture, dance and spontaneity for our youth. NO COST. NO FEES. NO TICKETS. NO FENCES. EVERYTHING IS FREE AND OPEN TO ALL. Kiddies Carnival 2004 will feature:
  • - hula hoop competition (child and adult)
  • - face-painting - Caribbean-style costume-making
  • - kid's drum circle and dance contest
  • - limbo competition (child and adult)
  • - storytelling


- DJ SpinCycle playing a mix of global grooves.
 
 PLUS, this year we will feature a DOUBLE-DUTCH performance!
 
PLEASE spread the word about this event. This is a One Love event for everybody. Dimond Park is a gorgeous, safe and clean park with 35 picnic tables, 5 large BBQ pits, Sequoia trees, a natural creek and lots of open space for the kids to play.


Also, we can ALWAYS use some monetary donations. (We are sponsored by Epic Arts, a non-profit arts organization which has all the necessary info. for a tax-deductible donation.) Our budget this year is about $1,000 and we would like to cover that from donations.
